WKNC 88.1 FM has an awesome annual event. AWESOME. It’s called Double Barrel Benefit.
During his time as Program Director of the Underground Department at WKNC, John participated in the planning and hosting of the station’s largest yearly event, Double Barrel Benefit. From 2016-2018, he provided creative input on the Hip-Hop acts who would participate, as well as assist in execution of the event. Double Barrel Benefit is a gem within the Triangle’s music scene, selling out every year since it’s inception, and acting as the independent radio station’s ultimate project of the fiscal cycle.
The most important professional take-aways of John’s involvement in Double Barrel Benefit include department leadership, decision-making, functionality within a team project, and the fundamental collaboration with other program directors towards a common vision of success.
